To support Joint Healing

Slather the joint with Narayan Oil, a rubefacient oil created by Yogi Bhajan for joint repair.

Put your joint into a bucket of cold water and ice, or stick ice packs on the joint.

Keep it iced for 20 minutes, take it out of the ice for 20 minutes, then slather more oil on it and repeat.

According to yogic philosophy the ice and cold helps to drive the plants in the oil into the joint and help the joint heal.

Be careful to avoid getting the oil in your eyes. Wash your hands after applying.

Muscle pain for chronic or inflamed muscles

Rub the sore or painful area with Narayan oil and put a heating pad on the area.

The heat and narayan oil will relax the muscles and support proper alignment of the area.

-From the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan

Be careful to avoid getting the oil in your eyes. Wash your hands after applying.

Castor Oil Packs

Castor Oil packs are the main lifestyle intervention of Edgar Cayce who was a pioneer of of integrative medicine. When there is chronic inflammation in an area, scar tissue has built up and the lymph is not moving. Castor oil can help to penetrate the area and release the adhesions. While it can be a messy protocol, it is beneficial for chronic pain.

There are several ways to do this, please choose what feels easiest for you;

Chop up flannel sheets into smaller pieces, about 5” x 6” depending on the size of the injury, pour oil onto piece and place on injury. Cover with plastic or saran wrap and put your heating pad on top of all. Do not fall asleep with heating pad on, but rest for about an hour.

Collect all the flannel pieces and wash them with an oil removing substance.
